I have this with the one that comes with the probe. This thing is so convenient and easy to use compared to my Masterbuilt traditional smoker. It smokes a whole chicken in like a 3rd of the time and I don't have to monitor the temps as often. To my untrained tongue, the smoked food tastes just as good as a traditional smoker which I didn't think was possible being that you're slashing the cooking time. I just wish it was bigger or that I bought the larger one as this doesn't have a ton of room. The larger one can fit two chickens at a time.

It is a pretty cool mini smoker, surprisingly capable. I've been using mine a lot this Summer and I really like it. The grill plate is easy to clean, but I highly recommend a non-stick grill brush to go with it, since they don't provide one. .https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ninja+...Caps%2C105 For whipping out a rack of ribs on the spur of the moment, nothing is more convenient. You do have to cut the ribs in half to fit on the grill, but it's no biggie. It does a decent job on burgers and steak too, although I still prefer my gas grill for those. If Woot! ever has the larger one, I'll probably upgrade, but the regular grill plate fits in my kitchen sink, cleanup is super easy, so maybe this is the right one.

We really like ours as well. Very easy to use. Bought a bigger capacity extension cord and recently posted a real for the flat griddle on sale. Just bought a bigger bag of 3rd party pellets, which work just as well. It is a bit smaller but works for now.

Very tempted, but I want to wait for a big discount on the bigger version, the Pro Connect XL. Also wished they made the pellet holder bigger to hold more pellets for longer smokes. I don't remember, but you have to refill the pellets every hour or 2.

My friend just got one of these from Costco for $250 (which isn't bad considering the return policy if this thing ever goes kaput past its warranty period). He said he really likes it and has done ribs, tri-tip and some other stuff on it. He said everything has come out great on it and doesn't take long. He even took it on a family roadtrip and it was great to bring along because it's not very large. On another thread here, someone mentioned the smokey profile/flavor that cuts through and permeates "smoked" meat isn't fully there with this, which makes sense. I think this is one of those things where most people probably don't care or won't notice though. Kind of like those of us who are guitar players and like to "tone chase" - when playing live, most people aren't going to care what effects or amps/amp models you're using and there's an even greater chance they won't even be able to tell the difference.... I digress. This unit looks great for convenience and ease of use. I didn't realize there was a bigger unit so might wait for that to come out or the price to come down more before I jump on one of these.

\nTrue. It generally won't give you a deep smoke flavor like with an offset smoker, but it's good enough. It must be the fan sealing the outside of the meat that lessens the penetration, that's my guess anyway. Unless your family or guests are super picky, they'll never know what type of cooker you used.

\nIt does generate a lot of acrid white smoke in the ignition process. The Ninja folks were smart enough to discourage people from putting the meat on until the pellets are fully ignited, and you have a calmer bluish smoke. You'll ruin your steak or burgers if you put them on too early.

\nOne nice feature is you can add more pellets during the cook and hit the ignite button again if you want to ramp up the smoke flavor. I tend to do at least two rounds of pellets with ribs and chicken. I don't think the white smoke generated in the second round of pellets hurts ribs or chicken at all, since the outside is probably already sealed at that point.
